

Raja Devasish Roy, is a Bangladeshi politician, lawyer and activist. He is a member of the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues as well as being the current titular Raja of the Chakma Circle, Bangladesh's largest indigenous community. Devasish Roy is a Barrister by profession and served as a Special Assistant to the Chief Advisor of Bangladesh (Head of the Interim Government). He has been practising law in the Dhaka District Court since 1988 and in the Supreme Court of Bangladesh (High Court Division) since 1991. Raja Devasish Roy holds membership of many international, national and local voluntary organizations dealing with indigenous peoples’ rights, human rights, development and environment. He has conducted research on human rights, indigenous peoples’ rights, constitutional and administrative law, land rights, forestry, environment, culture and development.
